Pottery Road Trip lessons are a great way to teach your child about the states. This lesson is focused on Colorado. I've listed some interesting facts about the state, and I gave a list of famous people born there.
You can use this lesson how you would like to. Use it as-is as a quick afternoon activity, or delve deeper to create more learning opportunities. On that note, what can be make but a cheeseburger? I’ll give you the simple version, but you can go crazy with this and add kinds of fun toppings to your clay-burger.
First, start with a chunk of clay, make a ball and cut it in half.
Here's what the bun will look like after it's cut.
Now, make another ball and squish it to be the patty.
Make another ball and make it thin to be the cheese. Use your fingers to shape the edges into a square.
Assemble your burger.
You should have 2 bun pieces, 1 patty and 1 piece of cheese. You could also make bacon, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos, mushrooms, etc. Imagine the fun
